Transition Assistance Program - Expansion:

October, 2007

Inverness currently provides world-wide career transition workshops in support of the Department of Labor Transition Assistance Program (TAP).  We currently deliver more than 1300 TAP Workshops worldwide at over 100 military installations. This year we are excited to support additional workshops in Italy and Portugal as well.

Computer-Based Training:

September, 2007

Inverness has won a project to provide the Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services (VR&E) Office with Computer-based Training (CBT) Courses. Our objective is provide computer based courses so the DVA can better give service members, military support personnel and other partner organizations training that explains the VR&E Services and the application process.  In addition specific courses will help provide continuing education or new counselor training. This training will help ensure continuity of information so that service members, military support personnel and other partner organizations are receiving and delivering the same high quality information to best support our disabled veterans.  

Counseling Research Study:

September, 2007

The Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) services provides services and assistance to veterans with service-connected disabilities to help them obtain, maintain or retain employment or to live independently if they are unable to work.  Many veterans live in remote or overseas locations or have difficulty traveling to meet with DVA counselors. Our goal is to provide the VA with a research study of remote counseling techniques which assist disabled or injured adults return to work or accomplish independent living goals.  Inverness will provide a variety of services to include a review and analysis of the literature, a cost benefit analysis, as well as a technology assessment to identify what equipment and technology is required to support successful remote counseling. We will also provide recommendations for a pilot study that would evaluate whether or not remote counseling enabled by telecommunications technology will improve the timeliness and outcomes of service delivery for disabled veterans.

Sports to Work Research and Development Study:

September, 2007

Inverness will be conducting a thorough analysis of the role that sports activities can play in vocational rehabilitation and independent living programs for disabled veterans. Our goal is to evaluate how current programs assist disabled individuals and in particular veterans, to increase their physical capacities, work tolerances, residual functional capacities – with the goal of helping them return to work.  Our research, analysis and recommendations will provide the DVA with programs that will help facilitate return to work strategies for veterans with disabilities. 

Independent Living (IL) Study:

September, 2007

The Department of Veterans Affairs Independent Living Program makes every effort to ensure that each eligible veteran is able, to the maximum extent possible, live independently and participate in family and community life increasing their potential return to work.  Our goal in this project is to collect data that allows DVA to effectively evaluate and analyze the services and outcomes achieved by independent living program participants.   The results of our study will be used to develop recommendations to improve the administration of independent living services provided to disabled veterans.

Document Control and Process Integration Specialist:

September, 2007

The DVA Health Administration Center (HAC) Financial Management Division is looking to transform their operations by applying new business strategies for effective financial management of care delivered to veterans and their family members in both VA and non-VA settings.  We will be providing operational and technical expertise for the VA HAC financial management division in order to optimize design, integration, and management of financial work systems, processes, information, and knowledge.

Develop Resume Curriculum and Training Video:

Transition Training Academy Award:

Inverness Technologies is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a new contract by Department of Labor, Veteran’s Employment and Training Service to support the Transition Training Academy, a pilot project at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA.  Started by Cisco Systems and DOL VETS, this program is designed to assist wounded and injured service members in obtaining new skills or enhancing current skills so that they can find suitable and rewarding employment upon leaving the medical facility and exiting active duty service in the armed forces. Using state of-the-art instructor led eLearning developed by CISCO Systems, Inc. and Teachers Without Borders, this program provide a non-traditional classroom training format to recovering service members. The goal is to prepare recovering service members for transition to further education, job training and placement and to expand and replicate this program to other military medical facilities. The program is also designed to demonstrate the value and viability of public-private cooperation in developing program partnerships to effectively deliver program services to our recovering service members. Several public and private agencies have already contributed valuable support to this program.

Disaster Emergency Management Personnel System:

Inverness is awarded a contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs
Employee Education System (VA-EES)
requiring Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) version 1.2 conformant web-based courseware that provides up-to-date information for Disaster Emergency Management Personnel System (DEMPS)

The capability will educate and register Coordinators and Volunteer health care providers who are needed in time of a disaster in support of the National Disaster Medical System. Inverness Technologies has been contracted to design, develop, and provide training that uses current information for VA employees who deploy as part of the VA’s 4th Mission – Supporting the National Disaster Medical System. In addition, Inverness will develop a new database for the DEMPS project to allow management to track Volunteers and specific capabilities.  This is a very aggressive delivery for a worth while cause.
