Inverness Technologies Wins Prince William
County IT Award
May 1, 2004
Inverness Technologies, Inc., announced today that Virginia’s
Prince William County has selected this robust, full service company
to provide the county a broad range of customized information
technology services. The five year contract carries a potential
value of $15 million. Inverness will hand select information technology
solutions that improve business processes and productivity for
their clients.
“This is a major step in Inverness’ history,”
said Pete Peters, the company’s founder and president. “The
work we’ll do for Prince William County will not only be
a major milestone for us, but also the start of what we believe
will be a great partnership.”
Inverness Technologies is a robust, full service firm specializing in program
management support for information management, information technology,
and information assurance projects. Headquartered in Falls Church,
Virginia, and founded by experts who pioneered the nation’s
Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation
Process for all systems and networks, Military Health Service’s
Advanced Technology Innovation Center, and the Global Video Network
for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. Inverness’
efficiency experts, consulting for the TRICARE Management Activity
designed a plan resulting in saving the Government over $10 million
in the first year on a project to consolidate Call Center operations.
The county is among the faster growing jurisdictions in the country,
with a population reaching 330,110 in 2003. Local businesses are
growing, while nationally known firms are entering the area or
expanding existing facilities. County officials, in their never-ending
search to improve productivity and taxpayer services, solicited
qualified companies to bid on 22 separate areas of information
management and technologies services. The county awarded Inverness
Technologies a contract to provide support in 19 of these areas,
including enterprise architecture, business process management,
program and project management, strategic planning, risk mitigation,
database support, data migration, information assurance and security,
return on investment analysis, and documentation and training.
“Inverness was founded by pioneers in the development of
information technologies and internet applications,” Peters
said, announcing the contract, noting that Inverness experts supported
path breaking work that led to today’s Defense Department
computer network security protocols. Inverness team members also
helped to design and launch the Military Health System’s
first web site as well as their global video network.
“Prince William County can depend on Inverness to deliver
the most reliable services available. We’ll deliver top-notch
quality with on-time completion, and budget to spare,” Peters
continued.
The Prince William County contract vehicle is available at no
cost to every School District and county in Virginia, and selected
local jurisdictions in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the quality of work this
company does, and this contract is proof,” Peters concluded,
“that we do IT right, the first time!
