Technologies Chosen to Assist in Implementing Collaboration for
the Department of Education
April 05, 2005
Inverness Technologies along with New Editions Consulting, Inc.
is assisting the U.S. Department of Education in the implementation
of a collaborative workplace and content management tool. The National
Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) is one
of three components of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative
Services (OSERS) at the U.S. Department of Education and operates
in concert with the Rehabilitations Services Administration (RSA)
and the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). NIDRR’s
main goal is to generate, disseminate and promote new knowledge to
improve the quality of living available to disabled persons.
NIDRR assumes responsibility for conducting the comprehensive and
coordinated programs of research and support to maximize the full
inclusion, social integration, employment and independent living
of individuals of all ages with disabilities.
A recent needs assessment conducted by New Editions for NIDRR indicated
a need for a central repository of information, a collaboration tool,
and version control. The Collaborative Work Environment will serve
all of these needs and Inverness Technologies will be an integral
part of the Department of Education team in preparing and implementing
this solution.
